GEORGIA WOBBLE BLUES. American, Country Rag (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Georgia Wobble Blues" was one of only two tunes (along with "Rome Georgia Bound") recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, in March, 1930, by the group The Carroll County Revelers (referring to the west Georgia county of that name). Patterson was born in Carroll County in 1910 and won acclaim while still in his teens for his performances of traditional banjo tunes at the Georgia Old-Time Fiddlers’ Convention in Atlanta. As a musical associate and fellow traveler of Georgia string band legends Fiddlin’ John Carson, Riley Puckett, Gid Tanner, and Ahaz Gray, Patterson was a direct link to the embryonic days of country music.
