New York musician, writer and researcher Don Meade finds a version of the tune in O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1903) under the title “Humors of Newcastle (The),” and cognate with fiddler Johnny Cronin’s “Monsignor's Blessing,” recorded by Kathleen Collins.
