BROSNAHAN'S FROLICS [2]. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The jig was entered into the first volume of the large music manuscript collection of Canon wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist) (1828-1896), an uilleann piper and Church of Ireland cleric who resided in County Cork. The first part of Goodman's tune is cognate with the first strain of "Brosnahan's Frolics (1)", but the second strains differ. Hugh and Lisa Shields note that the tune may be associated with one 'Broisnihan’, a traveling Kerry dancing master.
