COSMOPOLITE, THE. American, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "The Cosmopolite", as Fr. John Quinn points out, is but a re-naming in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883) of "Juggler (3) (The)," printed in Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (1880-1882). Both were publications of Boston music publisher Elias Howe's company. Samuel Bayard's southwestern Pennsylvania-collected "Tiddle Took Tod Fish" has some similarities.
