MAYO AIR. Irish, English; Air (3/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Fr. John Quinn finds the air printed twice as untitled airs in Hoffmann's 1877 edition of collector George Petie's Irish music. In the first instance, No. 201, it is labelled a "Mayo Air" from Dr. Kelly, and later in the volume appears as "Air to an old English Ballad. Collected in Mayo." As Fr. Quinn points out, the second example is altered from the first by re-barring.
