EMORY BAILEY (1897-1960). Emory Bailey (1897-1960) was from Shock, Calhoun County, central West Virginia. Bailey was the son of Winfield Scott Bailey (b. 1848) and grandson of William Bailey (b. 1816), both West Virginia Civil War veterans who fought together for the Confederacy in Company E, 14th Virginia Calvary, both obtaining the rank of Sergeant and Forage Master. Bailey was recorded in 1951 by Dr. Malvin Artley of Elon College, N.C.
