Biographical notes

Nothing is known of William Borrowman, save that he identified himself as a "Teacher of Dancing" in Edinburgh. However, there is no record of a dancing master in that city by the name of Borrowman. He issued two separate single-sheets with three tunes each, all in the key of 'C', named for the 3rd Duke of Buccleuch and his family.
