"Mr. Brander of Springfield's Strathspey" was composed by Elgin fiddler-composer biography:Donald Grant, and is contained in his Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs &c. (1820-21). The Brander family of Springfield, Elgin, were one of the leading families of the region.
