"Mrs. Henderson of Aimster's Favorite" was composed by Elgin fiddler-composer biography:Donald Grant and published in his Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs &c. (1820-21). Aimster is a farmstead (now deteriorated) in Thurso, Caithness, thatdates from c.1800 and was the home of Captain John Henderson, author of the General View of the Agriculture of the County of Caithness.
