MILK POT, THE. English, Country Dance Tune (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The country dance tune and directions were also printed in Skillern's Compleat Collection of Two Hundred & Four Reels...Country Dances (1780).

The first strain is similar to the first strain of "Miss Hussey's Reel". Compare also with the first strains of two other tunes printed by Straight and Skillern in their c. 1775 collection, "Pretty Milliner (The)" and "City Assembly (The)."
