LURG'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of the melody in print in Robert Ross's 1780 collection (p. 15), although it also appears in Angus Cumming's collection of the same year (A Collection of Strathspeys or Old Highland Reels, Edinburgh, 1780, p. 15).
