REEL DE STE-BLANDINE [2]. AKA and see "Gypsy Hornpipe (1)," “Quadrille de Québec 5e partie.” French-Canadian, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). From the repertoire of Montréal fiddler Isidore Soucy (1899-1962) and his son, Fernando. The reel is the 5th part of a quadrille named for his home town of Ste-Blandine, near Rimouski, Québec. Soucy recorded the entire "Quadrille de Québec" two separate times on 78 RPM, in 1926 and 1932. However the fifth part of the his "Quadrille de Québec (Quebec quadrille: fig. 5, AKA "Reel de Ste-Blandine" is different on each of the recordings. "Reel de Ste-Blandine (2)" is from the 1936 recording, while "Reel de Ste-Blandine (3)" is from the 1926 recording.
