Breathnach (1963) is of the opinion that the second part of this tune in the O’Neill's collections does not go with the first part. A cognate version was printed as an untitled reel (No. 51, p. 51) by collector P.W. Joyce in his Ancient Irish Music (1873), obtained from his neighbor, professional fiddler biography:Ned Goggin of Glenosheen, County Limerick, in the mid-19th century. Paul de Grae finds variants as “Music in the Forge,” Breathnach’s “Tameen's Reel,” Willie Clancy's "Ceol na gCeártan" and “Irishman's Love (2) (The)” in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (1883).
