STRANGER FROM LIMERICK, A. Irish, Hornpipe (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first part is very like that of Lime Street (K 4:288) but the second parts are different; the second part of Lime Street is mosre usually associated with The Cuckoo's Nest (see MI 1734). Though credited to flute player Fr. Fielding, this setting must derive from a fiddler, as the second part includes notes down as far as low G, below the range of the flute.
