CAT ON A LEASH. AKA and see "The Billy Church Memorial Breakdown." Old-Time, Breakdown. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Colorado fiddler Anita Dolen in 1982, during a move from Boulder to Denver, who told Sue Songer that the title was inspired by a woman walking a cat on a leash and it struck her as humorous.

Source for notated version: Chuck Aronson (California) who learned the tune at one of the Galax Fiddlers' Conventions [Songer].

Printed sources: Songer (Portland Collection), 1997; p. 30 (appears as "Billy Church Memorial Breakdown").

Recorded sources: Jigsaw - "Cut Up the Floor."
