AUSTIN TIERNEY'S (Ríl Aibhistin Uí Thiarnaigh). AKA and see "Farewell to Erin [1]," "The Cherry Tree [1]," "Down with the Tea Tacklings," "The Flags of Dublin," "The Flying Column [2]." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard. AB. The tune appears as "Maid in the Cherry Tree [2]" in Bernard Flaherty's Trip to Sligo. Michael Coleman recorded this tune for Columbia in 1921 in a medley with "Farewell to Ireland" (see "Farewell to Erin [2]") although the label reads only "Farewell to Ireland."
