CAMPBELL RIVER JIG. American, Jig. B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Susan Songer (The Portland Collection) records that the tune was composed by Dean Kenty and named for the community (or the river itself) of Campbell River on Vancouver Island. Kenty died in a hiking accident on Mt. Hoot in Sept., 1983, but is remembered by the Portland dance community who sponsor a yearly dance in his name to raise funds for musicians with lost or broken instruments.
