BEN WALKER'S WALK-AROUND. American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC. The tune is named for the southeastern Pa. fifer who liked it. Bayard believes this to be an "international" tune, with a version appearing in a German collection by Boehme. Further, he identifies it as appearing as the 2nd tune in the 5th figure of the quadrille "Off to the Skellings," and in the 2nd half of "The Walls of Limerick," both in Roche.
Source for notated version: fifer Hiram Horner (Southeastern Pa.) [Bayard].
