DONALD DOW. AKA and see "Lady Charlotte Murray [3]." Scottish, Strathspey. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. An excellent composition by Daniel Dow (d. 1783) who hailed from Kirkmichael, Perthsire. Daniel has also been called 'Donald' Dow, and the correct name is somewhat undetermined (c.f. John Glen's "Biographical Sketches of Early Scottish Musicians and Musicsellers", 1891). The tune was originally named "Lady Charlot Murray's Reel."
