Tune properties and standard notation

JENNY NETTLES [2]. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA; Oklahoma. A Major. AEac# tuning (fiddle). AABB. No relation to the Scottish tune "Jenny Nettles (1)" or the Ozarks tune "Jenny Nettles [3]." It is almost identical, however, to Missouri fiddler Bob Holt's version of "Old Charlie Deckard" (Beisswenger, 2008). Mark Wilson believes there may have been a confusion of the titles at some point, either with Thede or further back.

Source for notated version: Willie Collins (Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma) [Thede]. Collins was the father of Earl Collins, who issued an influential old-time/bluegrass album of fiddling called "That's Earl".

Printed sources: Thede (The Fiddle Book), 1967; p. 96.
