JOLLY SEVEN, THE ("An Moirseisior Sugac" or "An Seachtar Súgach"). AKA and see "Around the World (1)," "Cavan Reel (2) (The)," "Miss Kelly," "Miss Percy's Reel." Irish, Reel. C Major ('A' part) & A Dorian ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): ABB (Breathnach): AABB (Cole): AA'BB' (O'Neill/Krassen). Breathnach (1985) finds variants as "Miss Percy's Reel" (Northern Fiddler, 1978, p. 104), and "Around the World (1)" and "Miss Kelly's (in Ryan's Mammoth Collection, 1883, pp. 65. & 57). Many see this tune as a variant of the large and rather amorphous "Highlandman" family, which includes "Gravel Walks (The)," "Highland Man that Kissed His Grannie (1)," "Jenny Tie Your Bonnet," "Stenson's No. 1," "Tailor's Thimble (2) (The)" and many others.
