DARKEY UNDER THE WOODPILE. AKA and see "Susan Lick the Laddle," "O Little Girl What Makes You Look So Clever," "The Girl That Looks So Clever O!" Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, southwestern Pa. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Bayard was unable to trace this tune to overseas antecedents. However, the octave leap in the beginning of the first strain is reminiscent of the "Miss McLeod/Stony Point/Wild Horse" tune family.
