EARL OF SEAFORTH'S SALUTE. Scottish, Pipe Pibroch. A pipe pibroch composed in honor of the Earl of Seaforth by his piper, following the unsuccessful Jacobite rising of 1715 and the earl's subsequent exile (Collinson, 1975). The tune shares some melodic and structural features with the famous march "Caber Feidh," according to Cowdery (1990), who also notes both pibroch and march are associated with Scotland's MacKenzie clan.
