Source' for notated version': Joe Pancerzewski learned the tune from the fiddling Nelson Brothers around 1920 (The Nelson brothers, who homesteaded near Grinnell, North Dakota, were four fiddling brothers who were much in demand in the northwestern area of the state as square dance musicians); Vivian Williams (Seattle) [Phillips]; Joe Pancerzewski [Silberberg].
