KEAN O'HARA [2]. Irish, Planxty (3/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Turlough O'Carolan. O'Sullivan (1958) says the tune was meant to be sung to the words of "Kean O'Hara (1)", although it is curious that Carolan would compose two pieces of music for the same lyric. However, O'Sullivan finds both pieces to be in the harper's style, with "Kean O'Hara (1)" being the preferred air.

Source for notated version: Edward Bunting manuscripts, notated from the playing of harper Hugh Higgins [O'Sullivan].
