UNFORTUNATE CUP OF TEA. AKA and see “Cup of Tea (1) (The),” “Green Cup of Tea (The),” “Mayobridge.” Irish, Reel. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This reel appears in P.M. Haverty’s Three Hundred Irish Airs Arranged for the Pianoforte (New York, 1858-1859), according to O’Neill, and is a rather truncated version of the modern “Cup of Tea” version. "The Unfortunate Cup of Tea" was also entered into the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork Anglican cleric and uileann piper James Goodman [1]
