KIMMEL'S (JIG) [2]. AKA and see "Champion (2)," "Coleman's Cross (4)," "Smash." Irish, Jig. E Minor ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The second tune in the set played by Declan Masterson and Kevin Glackin on "Face the Hob," and by the Bothy Band (1975). This tune was originally recorded on an Edison 78 RPM by John J. "Dutch" Kimmel, a Brooklyn resident of German ancestry, under the title "Smash" in 1916.
