KNEBSWORTH PLACE. English, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody (as "Knebworth Place") fist appears in John Johnson's Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 5 (London, 1750). Knebworth Place is a stately manor in Hertfordshire, and was the seat of Lord Lytton. In modern times its grounds have been the venue for a number of rock concerts, attended by tens of thousands.
