EVER HAPPY. English, Country Dance Tune (3/4 time). A Minor (Raven): C Minor (Young). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The melody first appears in Walsh and Randall's New Country Dancing Master, 2nd Book (London, 1710, p. 56). It also was published in the Second Volume of the Dancing Master [1], first edition, published in London in 1710 by John Young. Young was an instrument maker and music seller, who was heir to the Playford music publishing and instrument shop. "Ever Happy" continued to be published in subsequent editions through the fourth and final one of 1728. Walsh, this time with partner John Hare, published the melody again in Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master, editions of 1719, 1735 and 1749.
