MISS RICHARDS’ HORNPIPE. English, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. From the early 19th century Hardy family manuscripts, Dorset. Barry Callaghan (2007) identifies Miss Richards as a “famous Sadlers Wells acrobat and dancer (who) performed in Dorchester in 1786.” I have not been able to find out anything more to date.
