LADY ANN CARNEGIE'S FAVORITE. Scottish, Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Niel Gow Junr. (c. 1795-1823), son of Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831) and grandson of famed Dunkeld, Perthshire, fiddler-composer Niel Gow (1727-1807). Niel Jr. was a promising performer and composer who briefly joined his father's Edinburgh publishing business. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by an untimely death. See also "Bonnie Prince Charlie (1)," the name of a song written by the Errick Shepherd, poet James Hogg, set to Gow's tune.
