SIEGE OF CURZOLA, THE. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The Siege of Curzola (1786) was a comic opera, performed at the Theatre-Royal in the Hay-Market. It was written by John O'Keeffe, with music by Dr. Samuel Arnold. It "did not give satisfaction and was performed on six nights only. The songs, however, were published with the music, and were sung at the gardens. " [English Minstrelsie, 1896]
