LADY ELIBANK'S FAVORITE. Scottish, Slow Strathspey. G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Lady Elibank was Lady Isabella Mackenzie (1725-1801), eldest sister of Lord Macleod, who married Admiral George Murray (1706-1785), 6th Lord Elibank, in January, 1760. They had two children, daughters. Isabella died a few days after Christmas, 1801, in Ross. George had a distinguished career in the Royal Navy, serving under Admiral Anson, whom he accompanied on his voyage around the world. He left the navy in 1756 and succeeded his brother as 6th Lord Elibank in 1788.
