LADY MARY HAYES' SCOTTISH MEASURE. AKA - "Lady Mary Hay's Scotch Measure." Scottish, Reel. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCCDD (Hunter, Lerwick): AABCCDD' (Gow). Composed by Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831) a Scottish fiddler, composer, music publisher and bandleader; a son of the famous Niel Gow. Lady Mary Turner Hay was born in Hatton in February, 1786, the daughter of Lord George Hay and Hannah Charlotte Maitland.
