MISS PATTERSON'S SLIPPER (Slipéir Iníon Mhic Pháidín). AKA and see “Crowley’s Reel (3),” “Master Crowley,” "Miss Patterson.” Irish, Reel. E Dorian/Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Kennedy): AABB (O’Malley): AABBCCDE (Feldman & O’Doherty). Caoimhin Mac Aoidh says “Miss Patterson’s Slipper” is the title source John Doherty used for the tune, although parts ‘A’ and ‘B’ of his version are actually a version of “Master Crowley’s Reel” and parts ‘C’ and ‘D’ together are the “Roscommon Reel.”

Source for notated version: fiddler John Doherty (1895-1980, County Donegal) [Feldman & O’Doherty]; fiddle and accordion player John McGrath (1900-1955) [O’Malley].

Printed sources: Feldman & O’Doherty (The Northern Fiddler), 1979; p. 71. Kennedy (Traditional Dance Music of Britain and Ireland: Reels and Rants), 1997; No. 137, p. 33. O’Malley (Luke O’Malley’s Collection of Irish Music, vol. 1), 1976; No. 63, p. 32.

Recorded sources: Gael-Linn CEF060, “Paddy Glackin.” Green Linnet 3077, John Doherty - “Bundle and Go.”
