LANSDOWNE LASS, THE. AKA and see "McDermott's Reel (2)," "Mick O'Connor's Reel." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by County Roscommon flute player Jose McDermott. When visiting America in the mid-1980's McDermott stayed with the Egan family in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. The 'Lansdowne Lass' is a reference to Seamus Egan's mother.
