LICK THE LADDLE SANDIE/SANDY [1]. Scottish, Reel. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD (Marshall): AAB (Athole, Gow). The tune was published in in 1800 on a sheet called the Kinrara Collection (really just one sheet printed on both sides) by William Marshall (1748-1833), and is sometimes therefore attributed to him. Gow (1802) says: "The Sets we have seen formerly of this Tune begins with the 2nd Strain (published we suppose by mistake) in place of the first as now given."
