LITTLE BAG OF POTATOES [1], THE (An Mála beag Fataí). AKA and see "Bag of Potatoes (The)." Irish, Reel. G Major (Breathnach): D Major (Tubridy). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Tubridy): AABB (Breathnach). Breathnach's source, flute player Michael Tubridy, called the tune "The Bag of Potatoes," but since Breathnach had a reel by that title he changed it a bit. It consists of one phrase, repeated, which Tubridy told him was very widespread in County Clare.

Source for notated version: Michael Tubridy/Michael Ó Tiobraide (Ireland) [Breathnach].

Printed sources: Breathnach (CRÉ I), 1963; No. 94, p. 41. Tubridy (Irish Traditional Music, vol. 1), 1999; p. 17 (appears as "The Little Bag of Peaties").
