MISS AUSTIN. Scottish, Slow Strathspey. G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Archibald Allan of Forfar (1794-1831), described in J. Scott Skinner's Harp and Claymore (1904) collection as "one of the very best players and composers of his day." He was a cousin of the famous fiddler James Allan (1800-1877). His most famous composition is "Dean Bridge of Edinburgh (The)."
