COME TO THE DANCE (Tar Go d-Ti an Rince). Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB.

Source for notated version: "Cronin" [O'Neill]. Chicago fiddler Edward Cronin was originally from County Tipperary, born about 1838. Cronin was a weaver, machinest and composer and was one of O'Neill's chief informants for his collections-"he would play on for hours at a time such tunes as memory presented, his features while so engaged remaining as set and impassive as the sphinx." Cronin also boasted he never forgave nor forgot an injury. O'Neill met with him weekly for some two years to transcribe tunes, until some perceived slight caused Cronin to react, and the sessions were terminated.
