LOLLIPOP MAN, THE. English, Morris Dance Tune (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A tune for a processional dance from Ducklington (Oxfordshire) morris, similar to "Lea Rig (The)/Lea Rigges (The)." The tune is traditional to the village of Ducklington (although it may or may not have originally been a dance tune), and was employed when the morris tradition was recreated in the town. Rude words sung to the tune are a modern invention.
