MISS DOWNIE'S STRATHSPEY. AKA and see "Honest Duncan," "Garden Shiel." Scottish, Strathspey. Composed by Duncan MacIntyre, an expatriate Scots dancing master in London who published the tune in 1795. As "Honest Duncan" it was published by Gow in Repository, Part Second (1802), and it was called "Garden Shiel" by the musician and collector Robert Petrie.
