LOCH RIACH. AKA and see "Broch Dam (The)." Scottish, March. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). Composed in 1926 by Aberdeenshire fiddler and composer J. Murdoch Henderson (1902-1972), dedicated to Alexander Grant of Inverness. Loch Riach was the unofficial name of a reservoir lake formed by the Broch Dam on the border of Banff and Aberdeen, and it is the place where Henderson observed the ospreys in the 1920's [1].
