LOVESICK POLLY. English, Country Dance Tune (4/4 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. It is possible that "Lovesick Polly" is the air to a song called "The Serenade or Love-sick Polly," inserted into the English performances of Natale Resta's opera Li tre cicisbei ridicoli, first produced in Venice in 1748, and performed in London in March, 1749. Some of the songs from the opera were printed by Walsh.
