BYRNE'S HORNPIPE [2]. AKA and see "Alexander's Hornpipe," "Ballymanus Fair," "Byrne's Favorite," "Kelly's Hornpipe (3)," "Sandlark (The)." Irish, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (Cole, Darley & Mccall, Ryan): AA'BB' (Kerr). The tune is usually known as "Alexander's Hornpipe."
Source for notated version: fiddler and miller Nicholas Furlong (Mill of Rags, Wexford, Ireland), noted from his playing at one of the Feis Ceoil competitions at the turn of the 20th century [Darley & McCall].
