MARIAN McCARTHY. Irish, Set Dance. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. Composed by Limerick fiddler Con Foley, originally from County Cork. It is named in honor of a famous set dancer from Limerick, according to Séamus Connolly (2002), who competed in the 1960's and 1970's. "Planxty Penny" is another of his compositions.
