MARCHE DU MONT ST. LOUIS. AKA - "Marche du Mont Saint-Louis." French-Canadian, March (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. A popular tune at modern sessions, it was composed by Québec accordion player and composer Alfred Montmarquette [1] (1871-1944), who recorded with his trio for the Starr/Brunswick label in the 1920's. Montmarquette is renowned for his fine march compositions, such as this one, named for a bilingual college in Montreal.
