MAYBELLE'S JIG. Canadian, Jig. Canada, Cape Breton. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD'. Composed by fiddler Jerry Holland (Inverness, Cape Breton). Paul Stewart Cranford remarks "Maybelle Chisholm MacQueen has been a strong influence on the current generation of young piano accompanists and composers. She comes from a musical family of great fiddlers--her brother and sister, Cameron and Margaret, and uncles Angus and Archie Neil." See also her composition "Cameron Chisholm's Strathspey."
