MEMORIES OF EDDIE IRWIN. Canadian, Reel. Canada, Cape Breton. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by the late Cape Breton fiddler and composer Jerry Holland (1955-2009) in honor of piano accompanist Eddie Irwin (1940-1997). Irwin was born in Cambridge, Mass., to an Irish-American father and a Cape Breton mother (of Irish heritage). He was a much sought after accompanist to the Cape Breton expatriate and visiting musical community in Boston.
