MEMORIES OF MORRISON. Irish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Accordion player Luke O'Malley (1976) notes that New York fiddler and accordion player John McGrath (1900-1955) named the tune, "because, he said, 'Morrison didn't know (the name of) it." Morrison was nicknamed "The Professor" for his teaching and knowledge of Irish music, and a tune he didn't know the title of would thus be memorable.
